Whenever you watch a film or video of any kind, you might marvel at the technology and skill that is involved in making sure that the images on the screen actually are captured properly and stored until such a time when they can be transmitted to the public for viewing. In essence, the cameraman can be defined as that individual who is part of the camera or filming crew that does consist of quite a number of professionals, each with a different skill to add to the whole process.
Becoming a cameraman is one of the things that will not necessarily have great use for many degrees if the passion and skill is lacking. The ability to decide upon what angle to capture an image from and the ability to actually decide upon other devices and technology that will help in the process of filming is not something that one will learn in school. True, there are many people who become cameramen out of their studying but on the whole, before one embarks on studying in order to become a cameraman, they should have the passion, zeal and desire to pursue the field of practice. The importance of passion is seen in the role that a news cameraman plays when it comes to filming.
Sometimes, journalists and other individuals are required to do their duties in places that are either dangerous, environmentally unfriendly of simply bizarre; a cameraman is ready and willing to work in such circumstances to ensure that at the end of it all, quality videos and films emerge. Before the cameraman and his crew can begin to work, it is the duty of the cameraman to make sure that all the necessary equipment is in place and that the whole process of shooting will not be brought to a halt for the purpose of setting up the equipment. Therefore the cameraman ensures that there is a flow to the process of shooting.
