My wife is Chinese and moved to the US with me after we got married. She was a traditional Chinese massage therapist in China and she really wants to get out of the house and start working over here. She has her green card but wants some information on the massage therapy industry in the US before she starts looking for work. I’m thinking she might need to get a new certificate to fit in line with US regulation, and I’m sure it will be more difficult for her to get a job than for most what with not being a native. I reckon she could bring a lot of good experience and new technique to an existing business, or better still she could set up her own little business. If anyone has any experience in this industry I would be pleased to hear your advice and opinions.

My cousin's wife got her certificate and has had trouble finding clients. I think because there is a lot of people doing this and because with the economy people are not splurging on stuff like massages.

My friend is doing really well as a massage therapist. Fist when she finished the massage therapist course she was advertising in local paper and once she got some clients and they recommended her to their friends and now she is so busy that se do not even need to advertise at all.
