Course Description:
This Level 3 Personal Trainer course will develop students to an experienced and confident level to plan and implement exercise programmes, covering subjects including:

Anatomy and Physiology - This fascinating module explores the human body, taking you through all the major systems and how they interrelate. This module provides the underpinning knowledge that you need to work safely and effectively as a personal trainer. The module areas covered include energy systems, cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal system, nervous and endocrine system and finally posture and core stability.

Programming Principles for Personal Trainers (including special populations and different environments) -advanced CV training systems, advanced resistance training systems, advanced stretching and flexibility alongside programme design and planning. You will be taught to recognise functional training techniques, understand movement analysis, posture assessments, core stability and finally enhancing your exercise library for training in different environments.

Nutrition and Weight Management - The aim of this module is to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to apply the principles of nutrition and weight management to support their clients goals. This course is designed for those working with or planning to work with clients to help them realise a healthy weight through nutrition and physical activity.

Delivering Personal Training Sessions (including functional and portable equipment) - Delivering personal trainer sessions.

Advanced Functional Training and Movement Analysis

Client Lifestyle & Fitness Appraisal (including lifestyle and stress management) - provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform fitness tests with a client and analyse the data; also to identify physical and psychological barriers to exercise and healthy living and finally to provide recommendations.

* Special Populations: obesity, diabetes and asthma
* Communication, motivational techniques and Behaviour Change Strategies

* Choose to work in the gym environment,or at a clients home

* Work full-time or part-time within a gym/health club or become self-employed, training a wide range of individual clients

* Decide to work with specific groups such as older adults, pregnant women or children (by taking CPD modules)

* Working with clients who are disabled or have mental health problems is also an option.
