Our fantastic new two day course brings you all the benefits of the one day course with more opportunities to reflect and to practice your facilitation skills. You’ll also be able apply the learning to your specific context and to learn and share with the other exciting individuals on the course. The course will raise key facilitation questions and challenges. You’ll be asked to analyse difficult situations and come up with your own solutions!
You will also develop your skills and attitudes as a facilitator in working with diverse groups using participatory processes. Most importantly you’ll have opportunities to practice and get quality peer feedback.
Discussion, questions and participatory practice around:
• What it means to be a facilitator rather than just ‘do facilitation’
• How to support groups to recognise and work with their power dynamics
• How to frame a group’s needs
• Understand and deal with ‘problem’ behaviour and seemingly intractable differences
• Cultivate empathy and the appreciation of differences
• How to frame a group’s needs
• Using questions effectively to draw out the experience of a group
• Using non-hierarchal processes
