This is an intensive 5 weeks of hands-on Painting And Decorating Training, during which time you will build a portfolio of your painting and decorating work.

This painting and decorating course will provide you with in-depth training during which time you will be assessed by our qualified painting and decorating Assessors and Internal Verifiers. The entire City & Guilds process is completed here on site at Able Skills which ensure this course is delivered using the correct procedures and without delay.

The Painting & Decorating 6 Units are:

1. 101 – Introduction to Health and Safety
2. 003 – Painting Techniques
3. 111 – Painting and Wallpapering
4. 112 – Applying decorative effects
5. 113 – Applying wallpaper to internal and external angles and painting skirting
6. 114 – Painting a panelled door

How You’ll Learn

This 5 weeks of hands-on Painting & Decorating training will see you progress from a novice to a competent Decorator. The course is designed to build your skills gradually until the applied skills become second nature and at this Centre where ‘reality’ is important, this is easily achieved. We will provide you with the Painting & Decorating training to meet the standards as required by City & Guilds but we will also build on this to give you much more so that you will finish with a very comprehensive understanding of what is required to achieve the best job when you are undertaking painting & decorating work. The emphasis for us is on meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations. We have designed the Painting & Decorating Centre to cover various scenarios, providing separate areas for each training and assessment module.
Courses Open To You After

If you are looking to achieve NVQ at level 2 then you will need the training to prepare you for this. You can opt to spend another 2 weeks with us which will provide you with real training, preparing you for the workplace and providing you with access to a CSCS card. If you feel that this is your preferred option from the outset, you may wish to consider the NVQ Level 2 option.

This course can be covered over a period to suit you and you can train for 5 consecutive weeks, divide your weeks up or even incorporate some weekend training if you have ongoing weekly commitments. At Able Skills, we aim to make our qualifications as accessible as is possible and additionally we offer a payment plan which, following a deposit, is on an interest-free pay as you train basis.

This is a hands-on, practical Painting & Decorating course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.
