This powerful course will teach you everything that you need to know about Mindfulness-based CBT and how to start using the techniques and principles in your daily life. Research has shown that people who have been clinically depressed 3 or more times (sometimes for twenty years or more) find that taking the program and learning these skills helps to reduce considerably their chances that depression will return.
What is Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)?
MBCT is based on the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) eight-week program, developed by Jon Kabat Zinn in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Research shows that MBSR is enormously empowering for patients with chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and gastrointestinal disorders, as well as for psychological problems such as anxiety and panic.
Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy grew from this work. The MBSR program has been adapted so it can be used especially with people who have suffered repeated bouts of depression in their lives.
Mindfulness is a modern concept, which describes the adoption of a new mindset, which can measurably alter one’s outlook and mood and is used as an empowering tool in the self-management of anxiety and stress. Many businesses and individuals are introducing powerful Mindfulness techniques into their daily routines to help relieve stress in the workplace and to keep a positive outlook and to help adopt a more productive approach to life.
Mindfulness is the practice of being aware in every possible moment while keeping a non-judgmental outlook and at the same time observing your own bodily and emotional responses.
