The Nutrition & Lifestyle – Level 2 Course is designed for people who wish to gain an understanding of how to make diet, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle choices in order to adopt and promote a healthier and more environmentally sustainable living.

The objectives of the course are to explain how choices in relation to the following topics can contribute to healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle choices:

  1. Nutrition and diet
  2. Food purchasing and preparation
  3. Exercise and health
  4. Lifestyle choices
  5. Healthy Environments

On successful completion of this course, students will receive an accredited Level 2 Certificate of Achievement.

The Nutrition And Lifestyle Course Includes These Units:

  • Unit One – Food Nutrition and Diet

The following topics are covered: Introduction to nutrition; Macronutrients; Micronutrients; Dietary allowances, goals and guidelines; Food labelling; Digestion; Healthy eating; A balanced diet; Dietary needs of different groups; Energy Needs.

  • Unit Two – Purchasing, Storing and Cooking Food for Health
