How to Ask the Questions and Use a Subjects

    Stay on topic

The purpose of this site is to help people to find out how to become someone and to get started in different jobs, professions and careers. So we'd prefer people to keep career and job-related discussions on the appropriate categories.

Ask one question at a time
If you've got lots of questions to ask, put each one in a separate topic.

    Use the right forum
Try to pick the best forum for your question. This will help people to find it later.

    Use a meaningful subject
Use the 'subject' line to make it clear what you are asking. If you give it a subject of 'A question' or 'What should I do?' some people won't even look at it. If you call it something like 'Do I need a licence to work as a private detective?' everybody will know what it's about and more people will look at it.

    Be patient
It is not unusual for a topic to be viewed 20 or 30 times before somebody replies to it. Not everybody will know the answer, and the people who do might be too busy to answer it the first time they read it. Wait a few days and post a reply to your own topic, politely asking for replies. forums are a good place to get answers, but it is more than that - it's a community. We share ideas and discuss issues, we tell jokes and sometimes we argue.

    Join in...
As soon as you join Our Career and Job Discussion Forum you are a member the same as everybody else. As long as you treat other members with respect and follow the rules, you will be welcomed into the community. So why not get over to the forum where you can either find your answer or be part of the help by telling people your insights of your knowledge.

    ...or just lurk!
If you don't want to join in, you can stay around and read what's here, and remain a 'lurker' until you've got something to say
