Default Is It Worthwhile To Become A Dishwasher?

This profession has been around since restaurants exist. Is it worthwhile to become a dishwasher, in your opinion? What are the current pay rates for a dishwasher in the U.K.?

This is a sub profession. It by itself will not pay very well and there is no room for advancement. You are better off working as part of staff under a hotel, starting out by cleaning and such, then working your way up through management.

This is the kind of job you take when you need to make ends meet or you are a student in school. As mentioned by Belle, there is no advancement here.
I like her options as well. Hotel staff earn much more for cleaning rooms than dishwashers do.

I never heard of anyone wanting to do this. I think it is one of those jobs you take while still in University or to make ends meet. Look into hotel staff like mentioned, at least you can move up in those companies.

This kind of job is something you take on if you need extra income or if you are focused on something else that isn't paying well enough like raising a family, making ends meet, or in school.

You don't want to wake up one day and have regret. Focus on your happiness. If you feel you are happy making lower income while doing this as a career, then by all means shoot for the stars.

If it makes you happy, then go for it! I just wouldn't expect a decent income from it. Most dishwashers are students or people supplement a higher income. If you are okay with that, then go for it!
