The course
The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is for anyone looking to gain a full teaching qualification in the post 16 sector. It is not subject specific and not subject specific, meaning the course attracts learners from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.
Who should attend?
The course is a natural progression for those learners that have already achieved levels 3 or 4, but learners with the required experience can also enrol straight on to the level 5 programme.
You must be aged 19 or over and be experienced or qualified in the area that you want to teach. You must have access to 100 hours’ worth of teaching practice.
You are also required to have a good level of written and spoken English to complete the theory and practical assessments.

What will I be able to do on completion?
Successful completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training allows the learner to apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) in the post 16 sector. The course is nationally accredited (RQF) and Ofqual regulated, gaining you an internationally recognised teaching qualification.
The qualification opens doors within further education colleges and enables learners to apply for teaching positions with the confidence they are already qualified and experienced teachers.
How will I be assessed?
To achieve your qualifications you will complete a series of theoretical and practical tasks. You will be required to allocate a substantial amount of time for your teaching preparation, research and delivery. You will be guided by your tutor
Our qualified teaching staff will guide you through the process, through focused activities and webinars.
Knowledge in each unit will be assessed by the completion of written assignments.
Your teaching practice will be learning assessed according to Ofsted guidelines and will teacher/trainer through session planning, observation reports and reflective journals
