The Diet, Nutrition & Exercise for Children – Level 3 Course is designed to equip students with the theoretical knowledge, information and resources needed to educate parents and children up to 12 years old on how to lead healthier lifestyles.
Due to poor diet and lack of exercise childhood obesity has more than doubled in children in the past 30 years. Children and adolescents who are obese are at greater risk of conditions such as bone and joint problems, prediabetes, sleep apnea and are more likely to suffer from social and psychological problems.
This course will focus on nutrition and exercise for children and how healthy lifestyle habits such as healthy eating and physical activity can lower the risk of becoming obese. You will also learn how poor food choices can have a detrimental effect leading to health problems later in life.
On successful completion of this course, students will receive an accredited Level 3 Certificate of Achievement.
